Rick is an established Art Director / Designer in Vancouver BC. He is a member of the Art Dept. I.A.T.S.E. 891, and has been involved in many elements of designing Film Sets for over 20 years, founding MAKE A SCENE Ltd. In 1998.
He is also a member of the Camera Dept. I.C.G. 669, and founded AIRFRAME Productions in 2012 – an Aerial Drone Filming Company. He is fully licenced and Insured Drone Pilot.
It is with this combined experience that enables MAKE A SCENE and AIRFRAME Productions to offer next level service, and in depth knowledge of Translights, Backdrops, whether renting, or shooting, as well as Film location Prep Services – Aerial Site surveys, and Pre-Vis Video.
Film Productions are making great steps towards reducing waste and the Eco impact we create during production. The making of these single use (very large) Backdrops, and Translites is an area that has considerable harmful effects on our Green footprint. From the initial making, with the inks, vinyls, and fabrics – to the inevitable disposing in landfill (the majority of these products do not breakdown, and seep harmful chemicals into our environment). Also in renting these Backings from other Countries, adds to our Carbon footprint, as well as being costly, and timely.
*We are also in development of creating a program to Re-Purpose unrentable Backings into new products!
